Bye bye 'days of being LJ', twas fun while it lasted.

I'm also a bit perturbed by your tags, in particular the 'goodbye, life' part.

I don't know what it is about the Olympic Games. Always one of the hottest ratings tickets that there is, and no one can harness its power properly. Mostly due to, as you excellently pointed out, a seeming refusal to even try or accept anything different or open.

On a slightly less important note, I really am spun out by some of 9's choice of commentators. I know they have to go "in-house" for the most part, but please, Andrew Voss talking about luge is not convincing. It sounds exactly like a guy who has been given a sheet of facts to memorise that morning, and pretend to understand it.

Even worse is James Brayshaw, when he's on camera he barely looks awake, let alone enthusiastic to be there. He sucks when he's commentating cricket anyway, I don't understand why a failed State cricketer and AFL club chairman is even commentating on international sports at the highest level.

At least Phil Ligget has brought a bit of class to the commentary. That guy can commentate anything and sound like a true authority.

If Clint Eastwood can be a legit and very believable toughguy at 80, then these two could do anything as well!

About actors getting older, all the time I've been growing up now and then I'll hear that some old actor has died, and my mum or dad will go "aww...I used to really like him/her." That makes me think...our acting heroes will be like that some day, some sooner than others. I don't know if I'm ready to handle that just yet.

I always think about age when I realise that there are elite sports stars that are younger than me. That really gives me a sad feeling to know I'll never be an elite sports star. When you're a kid, and even a teen, the sports heroes are all older than you, and you grow up admiring and idolising them. But what happens when people your age...people younger...people born AFTER 1990!!! start being the stars everyone is watching?

That is pretty scary...
