vesper

(to kick things off…a Vesper)

Welcome to my new blog…

I’ve decided to launch it before it was truly ready, but hey when has that really stopped any developer from launching? It’s going to be quite different to livejournal, no more photobucket, less commenting, no flist (google reader has become my new flist – oh hail glorious GR), and way more control over my design and content.

This will be a good a bad thing. Good, it will allow me to post up more pics/media more regularly and give me more opportunities to make it look pretty rather than having one theme languish for years. But the bad means I’ll be doing more CSS/PHP coding…not something I particularly enjoy. I’d always envisioned web design would totally move towards GUIdom when I was dragged back but now it’s more code then ever. Sad =( , the world is still run by coders rather than designers.

So obviously, it’s still a work in progress. There’s a random splash for the domain, a gallery which isn’t integrated with a header (but I might move to flickr anyhow later). Design elements I’m not entirely happy with, but most importantly…

It’s ready to blog on.

I haven’t been blogging much the past 3 months, but now that I’m actually doing stuff I need a place to vent again. So I’ve cobbled together this thing and I shall start using it now. I’ll fix things as I go along…

but Welcome old readers, new readers, hope there’s muchos funos to come.
